Organized in partnership with the Institut national d'histoire d'art and under the aegis of the French Ministry of Culture, the Festival de l'histoire de l'art is a not-to-be-missed event which, every year for three days: from June 5 to 7, 2026, brings the Château de Fontainebleau and the surrounding area to life with over 300 free events open to all.

On the program: concerts, readings, guided tours, lectures, debates, book presentations, round-table discussions, film screenings and fun activities for families and children. The ideal opportunity to discover, learn about and share art and its history in an exceptional setting.

In 2026, Morocco is in the spotlight, and the chosen theme, Fashion, offers an unprecedented look at artistic creations, influences and exchanges through the ages.

For the duration of the Festival, access to the Château de Fontainebleau is entirely free, allowing everyone to take full advantage of this unique event!
