Plunge into the heart of royal life! The Château de Fontainebleau opens its doors to you from October 11, 2026 to January 25, 2027 for the exhibition "Marie-Antoinette and Louis XVI at Fontainebleau. Splendeur et douceur de vivre". A unique invitation to enter the intimacy of France's last royal couple and relive their moments of pomp, leisure and tranquillity in one of their favorite residences.

Marie-Antoinette and Louis XVI are closely linked to one of the most significant chapters in French history: the Revolution. This exhibition invites us to take a journey back in time, offering a privileged glimpse into their daily lives, far from clichés, through more than 100 remarkable works - portraits, drawings, sculptures and objets d'art - that bear witness to their taste, elegance and sense of intimacy.

Visitors will be able to discover the Salle de la Belle Cheminée, a privileged witness to their life at Fontainebleau, as well as the Salon des Jeux de la Reine, the Chambre and the Boudoir d'Argent, reconstructed for the occasion to faithfully recreate the spaces as Marie-Antoinette knew them, with their original furnishings.

From October 10 to 17, a complementary program of films inspired by Marie-Antoinette will be shown at the Ermitage cinema in Fontainebleau.
