In 1798, Napoleon Bonaparte set out to conquer Egypt with his large army and more than 160 scientists. His aim was not only to control the country and its sea routes, in order to weaken England, but also to make scientific progress. After a long crossing by boat, he arrived in Egypt and began to fight battles.
