London, 1976. The country is on the brink of implosion. The Clash and the Sex Pistols take center stage. In this electric whirlwind, four young women loudly assert their right to make music the way they want, without concessions or compromise.
There were four of them, and they came from extremely varied social backgrounds, ranging from the German upper middle class to the English working class, via the underground world of Spanish political refugees.
Their names were Viv Albertine, Ari Up, Palmolive and Tessa Pollit. They lived in London.
They were between fourteen and twenty years old. They threw themselves wholeheartedly into this adventure: two of them had never touched a musical instrument before.
They achieved the feat of being the first band in the world to obtain total control of their image from their record company.
