Here's the program for the Art History Festival at the École Militaire d'Equitation:
- Equestrian demonstrations and mediation in the Sénarmont riding school
Saturday June 7 and Sunday June 8, 10am to 12pm and 1pm to 3pm
The Sénarmont riding school, an architectural masterpiece with a monumental wooden frame, built at the request of Napoleon 1st in 1807, is rarely open to the public. During the festival, dressage and show jumping demonstrations by riders from the École Militaire d'Équitation de Fontainebleau will be held in this exceptional setting. They will serve as the starting point for a free mediation by students from the École du Louvre on the history of the site, as well as on equestrian practice, between art and sport, and for demonstrations of the restoration of objects from the École Militaire Equitation's heritage by student restorers and student conservators from the Institut National du Patrimoine (INP) in a workshop for the restoration of leather riding gear.
Event organized by the École Militaire d'Équitation de Fontainebleau and the Délégation au patrimoine de l'armée de Terre in partnership with the Institut national du patrimoine and the École du Louvre.
Entrance via the English garden of the Château de Fontainebleau.
