On the edge of the Fontainebleau forest, the village of Barbizon (Seine-et-Marne), famous for its pre-impressionist school of painting (Corot, Daubigny, Millet, Rousseau), is organizing the 5ᵉ edition of BARBIZON, Fête des parcs & jardins, on April 18 and 19, 2026.

This free annual event, dedicated to nature, plants and art, will bring together around sixty exhibitors around the town hall: nurserymen-producers, associations, artists and craftsmen. Numerous events for young visitors will complete the program.

An inspiring theme: "Gardens of the World
For this 5th edition, the event explores the diversity of philosophies and symbolism attached to gardens across the continents. English, Iranian, Moroccan, Japanese gardens... all the visions, histories and aesthetics that make up a veritable botanical and cultural voyage.

Alain Baraton, an exceptional, legitimate and popular sponsor
BARBIZON, Fête des parcs & jardins is honored to welcome Alain Baraton, Head Gardener of the Domaine national de Trianon et du Grand parc de Versailles and columnist on France Inter, as its patron. He will be present on Saturday April 18 to meet the public and sign his books.

A festive village: nature, craftsmen, nurserymen and producers...
Around the town hall, recently landscaped by local firm Au bonheur des Dames, over 60 exhibitors will be on hand:
      - Nursery gardeners - growers,
      - associations including the Conservatoire National des Plantes à Parfum, Médicinales et Aromatiques de Milly-la-Forêt,
      - artisans creating products from the processing of flowers and fruit,
      - artists,
      - a bookshop,
      - and a plant exchange.

A festive event that combines transmission, discovery, creativity and the art of living.

      New: a "world micro-garden" trail
At the invitation of the municipality and the festival organizers, enthusiasts - amateur gardeners, Barbizon residents - will create small ephemeral gardens paying tribute to various landscape traditions.
These "micro-gardens of the world", reflecting the philosophy or symbolism of the English, Iranian, Moroccan or Japanese garden, will be scattered around the streets and private gardens near the village hall, inviting visitors to take a poetic and exotic stroll.
