Start on route Gaston Bonnier, above the station, next to the maison forestière, then pass the forest ecology station and continue on route de la Tour Denecourt.

Follow the yellow signs and the "circuit des points de vue" sign.
When you reach the Tour Denecourt, don't hesitate to climb to the top. Nearby, you can also take a walk in the rocks.

This edifice, built by the "Sisyphus of Fontainebleau", was originally named "Fort l'Empereur" by the loyal Bonapartist. Inaugurated by Napoleon III and Eugénie in 1853, it collapsed completely on January 28, 1878, having been built without mortar. The following year, "sylvain" Colinet launched a subscription campaign, which raised over 2,000 francs. Thanks to this sum, the building was solidly rebuilt and raised by more than a metre.
It was named "Tour Dénecourt" in 1882, in accordance with the wishes of the Fontainebleau town council.
From the top of the tower, a superb 360° view of the Fontainebleau forest awaits you, from which you can make out the surrounding towns and villages (Samoreau, Fontainebleau etc.).
