Fragile and precious, graphic works are among the most sensitive of museum treasures: threatened by light, they can only be displayed occasionally. Yet drawing is often the artist's most direct and intimate gesture.

This exhibition invites visitors to delve into the reserves of the Musée des Peintres de Barbizon and the Musée Stéphane Mallarmé to reveal the unsuspected wealth of their graphic collections.

Works by Rousseau, Millet, Jacque, Corot and other major figures of the Barbizon school are on display, along with engravings by Berthe Morisot, Bracquemond, Whistler, Maurice Denis and Japanese prints.

A sensitive and varied exploration of the art of the line, from sketch to print.
