The Château de Fontainebleau, first mentioned in the 12th century, has been home to all the major sovereigns of France. Constantly enlarged and embellished by them, it is a unique example of a residence loved and regularly inhabited for over 8 centuries.
12:30 - Lunch downtown: starter, main course, dessert, ¼ de vin and coffee
14:30- Jeu de Paume demonstration: located within the walls of the Château de Fontainebleau, the Jeu de Paume room is one of only 3 still in use in France. The Maitre paumier will introduce you to the history of the Jeu de Paume, the rules of the game, how balls are made, and will give a demonstration. Relive the great moments of this court game and popular game from which the French language has borrowed a number of expressions: "tomber à pic", "épater la galerie"...
15:30 - Courtyards and gardens of the Château de Fontainebleau: another facet of the art of living at the Château de Fontainebleau. From the French-style gardens designed by Le Nôtre to the Cour des Adieux, via the Jardin de Diane, an itinerary where the façades and courtyards, fountains and parterre evoke the palace's glory days.

Périodes d'ouverture
All year round on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and weekends between 9.30 am and 5 pm.
Closed exceptionally on January 1st, May 1st and December 25th.
1st of April to 30th of Septembre : the castle is opened from 9am to 6pm and the gardens from 9am to 7pm.
