10:00 - Guided tour of the Château de Fontainebleau, first mentioned in the 12th century, has welcomed within its walls all the important sovereigns of France. Constantly enlarged and embellished by them, it is a unique example of a residence loved and regularly inhabited for over 8 centuries.
12:30 - Lunch downtown: starter, main course, dessert, ¼ de vin and coffee
14:30- Jeu de Paume demonstration: located within the château grounds, the Jeu de Paume room is one of only 3 still in use in France. The Maitre paumier will explain the history of the game, the rules, how balls are made, and will give a demonstration, reliving the great moments of this court game from which the French language has borrowed a number of expressions: "tomber à pic", "épater la galerie"...
15:30 - Self-guided tour of the château's courtyards and gardens, where the façades and courtyards, fountains and parterre will evoke the palace's glory days.
